Description
The Casey’s Place Shift Supervisor will provide oversight, supervision, and direction for Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) along with ensuring daily operations of respite services are implemented following Elmcrest policies, regulations of NYS OPWDD HCBS waiver, and regulations of the 1915C Children’s HCBS waiver.
Responsibilities:
Assist in ongoing development and implementation of respite services policies and procedures to ensure staff are following policies and protocols
On-call, every other week
Conduct monthly fire drills
Oversite, supervision and coaching of staff performance to ensure quality of service; including completing OPWDD Core Competencies, for new staff and annually thereafter
Assist in the management of daily operations per direction from Administrators
Work in partnership with Program Manager, Nurse Supervisor, and Director to ensure staff shifts are appropriate for child supervision ratios
Work in collaboration with admin team to schedule guests for all programs (weekend, afterschool, 9-5 day, etc.)
Send guest letters and guest checklists prior to overnight stays
Co-lead monthly staff meetings; compile agenda and additional needed documents
Attend weekly admin team meetings
Maintain Paycom; have primary responsibility for time cards
Coverage of guests during staff breaks, as needed
Complete staff and guest assignments, attendance sheets, and post
Newly hired staff onboarding; orient, train, coach, and supervise
Planning and implementing community and onsite children’s activities
Oversight of daily cleaning of house
Ensure and oversee that all staff documentation meets regulation and program policies; including filing documentation when complete
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Developmental Disability Services
Perform all responsibilities in alignment with the mission and core values of Elmcrest
Qualifications
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in supervision or management of staff; NYS OPWDD supervision experience preferred
Experience with people with developmental disabilities
Some college or leadership programs
Demonstration of independent work skills with the ability to be part of a team responsible for providing innovative respite programming
Must have flexibility in work schedule
Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
Valid NYS driver license free of major infractions
Personal values consistent with Elmcrest mission and values
Physical requirements: ability to safely lift/lower 20lbs with or without assistance; ability to walk unaided for short distance; ability to stand, kneel, bend and squat
