  POSITION: Caseworker I, II, III - Expedited Permanency Planning Ongoing

  DUTIES: This position provides on-going services for families where childabuse or neglect is present in order to resolve these circumstances, whichmay include performing child abuse investigations, removing the involvedchildren until the dangerous conditions are corrected, and arranging forlong term or permanent placement when living in the home continues to beunsafe.Provides individual or family counseling on an ongoing basis to adolescentchildren and their parents who are experiencing severe problems in theparent-child relationships. Conducts investigations on abuse or neglectcomplaints to assess the need for protection of children. Monitors progressof clients and modifies case plan as needed. Provides immediate short-termcounseling or crisis intervention to stabilize the critical situation and todelay or prevent the removal of a family member. Makes collateral contactswith such community resources as law enforcement and medical personnel toobtain additional information. Participates in staffing with school, mentalhealth facilities, child protection review teams, and other professionalsinvolved with the family members. Attends court hearings.

  REQUIREMENTS: Level I- Bachelor's degree with a major in a humanbehavioral sciences field. Major course work is the equivalent of 30 semesterhours or 45 quarter hours in either development of human behavior, childdevelopment, family intervention techniques, diagnostic measures ortherapeutic techniques.Examples of such major course work are social work, psychology,sociology, guidance and counseling, and child development.Level II - Minimum of one year of full-time professional caseworker experienceacquired after the degree in a public or private social services agency.Level III - Two years full time, professional, paid experience obtainedafter the degree in a public or private social services agency.A master's degree in social work or human behavioral sciences field maysubstitute for one year of work experience.

  A valid Colorado driver's license, vehicle in safe operating condition,liability insurance.

  OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to pass a nationwide background check.Must be physically present within the geographical boundaries of FremontCounty when performing on-call duties.

  WAGE: $23.84-$27.81 per hour depending on qualifications.

  SHIFT: Full-time, discuss days and hours with employer
