To help us do that, we have hundreds of loving & highly qualified foster parents primarily in Brooklyn, Manhattan, the Bronx and Westchester County- who serve as our foster children's substitute family.
PRINCIPAL OBJECTIVE:
The responsibility of Homefinding Case Aide is to assist with the administrative operations of the agency’s Foster Parent Recruitment, Development and Support to assure the efficient management of the Fingerprinting process
Responsibilities:
Ordering office supplies and equipment.
Catalog closed case records and sends them to storage; upon request, arranges for their retrieval from storage.
Maintains and updates the catalog of case records housed in the storage facility.
Maintain the file cabinets by returning loose files to their proper locations
Participates in relevant training and seminars, maintains and applies a current knowledge of necessary clerical and computer skills.
Assist in processing clearances through the State Central Registry, logs information, distributes report directly to the assigned Homefinder/Recruiter..
Assist with entering foster parents, completed trainings in CONNECTIONS, create certificates of completion, file with copy of sign in sheet in record.
Launch and print FTC letters in CONNECTIONS and mail to parents
Generate and mail placement letters to foster parents for new intakes
Works with RDS Director of Homefinding on special projects
Assists with filing foster parent documentation in the foster parent records
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
High School diploma or General Education Diploma required; college preferred
Experience working in Homefinding a plus
Must be a good manager of time and have good organizational skills.
Knowledge of MAPP and Mini-MAPP, knowledge of internal and external regulations and polices applicable to foster care and adoption.
Computer literate and familiar with CONNECTIONS.
Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Flexibility to work evenings, extended hours as necessary
Must be able to climb stairs and lift boxes not to exceed forty pounds
