We are adding to our team.Want to be part of it?Read below for some additional information.The Key Objectives:Rough carpentry work including in-wall blockingFinish carpentry including installation of doors, frames, hardware, ceiling materials, trims, and millworkConstruct, install and repair structures and fixtures with wood, plywood, metal, and wallboard using hand and power toolsBuild rough wooden structures, such as concrete forms, scaffolds, tunnel and sewer supports, and temporary frame shelters according to sketches and blueprintsGeneral partition layout along with framing and sheet rock installationConstruct temporary protection including barricades, visqueen, floor protection, etc.Erect scaffolding for buildings and install ladders, handrails, walkways, platforms and gangways, install rough frames and brace them with boards nailed to framework, install subflooring in building, and weld parts to steel structural membersDriving equipment, loading, unloading, and moving materials from within or near the construction site from pallets, skids, trucks, or other locations, as neededBrace forms in place using various means and building framework to strengthen and protectGeneral clean-such as vacuuming, sweeping and trash removal to ensure safe and clean job sites are continually maintainedWho Do You Work With:This role teams with other field staff and subcontractors. This position reports to the assigned Superintendent.Skills and Abilities:Safety First focus and mind-setAble to read and interpret construction documents and drawingsProficient at sawing boards and plywood panels to required sizes, bracing forms in place with timbers, tie rods, and anchor bolts, and building framework to strengthen, protect or disguise buildings that are undergoing constructionAble to provide supervision to subcontractors and shift workers, as directed by Superintendent or Project ForemanCalm under pressure, balanced with a sense of urgency and commitment to get the job done well within committed deadlinesSelf-motivated yet effectively able to work as part of a teamAble to lift, squat, and pull up to 100 lbs. with frequency throughout the dayEducation and Experience:At least 4 years of relevant experience in commercial construction, preferredOSHA 10 hour certified, preferredOperator's certificate, preferredPepper Construction is an Affirmative Action /Equal Opportunity Employer
