Knowledge and Skills Requirements: Building and Construction -- Knowledge of building codes and the standard methods, materials, practices, principles, tools and equipment used in the carpentry trade. Critical Thinking -- Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. Design -- Ability to read and understand technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models. Installation – Installation of materials, equipment and products to meet specifications. Mathematics -- Use mathematics to measure accurately, calculate dimensions and solve problems. Mechanical -- Knowledge of construction equipment and tools, including their uses, repair, and maintenance. Planning and Organization -- Ability to plan ahead and organize jobsite material and activity. Quality Control -- Inspection of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance. Resource and Time Management – Appropriate use of equipment, facilities, materials and manpower needed to do work and control costs. Safety -- Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote safety for the protection of people and property on the job-site.
