JOB REQUIREMENTS: Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) invitesapplications for a part-time Career Coach to join our Career ConnectionsCenter team. The Career Coach will provide career development coachingto current students, as well as participate in creating and implementingprogramming and other resources. The Career Coach is committed tomaintaining a culture of superior customer service to support a diversepopulation. S/he consistently monitors, evaluates, and recommendschanges for improvement to better meet organizational needs &objectives. The Career Coach will help promote a career culturethroughout the MSOE campus. Essential Job Functions Providecomprehensive, individualized career coaching to current students tohelp develop effective job search skills and provide strategies andtools to gain internship and full-time employment, including guidancewith resumes, cover letters, interview and networking skills, andHandshake & LinkedIn profiles. Develop user expertise in utilization ofonline career development resources: Website, Handshake, and LinkedIn,etc. Maintain industry knowledge of potential career paths, as well ascurrent recruiting practices and timelines as related to specificmajors. Other Duties and Responsibilities Consistently evaluate andupdate all handouts, guides, and web-based resources. Activelyparticipate in Career Fairs and other on-campus recruiting and careerdevelopment related events. As a team member, provide exemplary customerservice in student/alumni centered office operations. Research bestpractices, peer institutions, and market/economic conditions torecommend changes and enhancements to improve career coaching resources.Represent the university and participate in local, regional, andnational professional associations and conferences in order to staycurrent with industry standards, recruiting trends, share bestpractices, and increase the collaborative culture, visibility, andreputation of office. This list of duties and responsibilities is notall-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties andresponsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.Qualifications Associates degree or higher desired. Preferred, but notrequired - familiarity with and/or experience working in a Career Centerand/or Higher Education and/or any type of educational setting. Highethical standards and demonstrated ability to work with diversepopulations. Self-motivated, takes initiative, and has ability toinnovatively solve problems with creativity and diplomacy, making soundjudgements while working with various personalities, relationships, andcircumstances. Ability to build and maintain collaborative andcooperative partnerships across many, varied constituents andstakeholders.
