Action for Boston Community Development is anonprofit human services organization that each year provides more than100,000 low income residents in the Greater Boston region with the toolsand resources needed to transition from poverty to stability and fromstability to success. Duties include: Develop, present, and facilitate arange of job search and career transition workshops Explain to customersthe procedure and process for Career Center services including careerplanning, job development, and labor market information, trainingopportunities, partner services and referrals Determine customersuitability for center services by providing or arranging for theprovision of appropriate services needed to facilitate theimplementation and successful operation of the customer\'s employmentplan Provide an initial assessment for customers and assistance withdeveloping an employment plan including goal setting Provide feedbackand an objective perspective by gathering information throughinterviewing and observing individuals Assist customers with resumereview and development, cover letter review and development, job searchstrategies, provision of labor market information, job referrals andreferral to additional partner services Support customers throughtransitions and facilitate decision making and goal setting including,but not limited to, referrals to training, Section 30, and the trainingprocess Assist customers in resource room using available technologies;troubleshoot computer and software problems Research labor market issuesand current workplace trends, maintaining knowledge of state-of-the-artcareer assessment instruments; administer and interpret as appropriateInput relevant customer data appropriately and timely by following allMOSES entry policies Establish and maintain an effective workingrelationship with Career Center partners Maintain all areas of theResource Room for cleanliness and organization Perform other relatedduties as assigned from time to time Job Qualifications: Minimum of HighSchool Degree or GED required and minimum of three years of customerservice or relevant experience required An Associate\'s or Bachelor\'sdegree in human services, public administration, business management orrelated field preferred but not required At least 2 years of experienceworking in a career center, providing services to businesses, or otherrelated experience preferred but not required Knowledge and experiencewith WIOA (and other Career Center Programs) regulations, programs,guidelines and administrative requirements preferred Demonstratedability to work sensitively with people from diverse backgrounds andmanage high stress situations while demonstrating sound decision makingEffective communication and public speaking skills with the ability toadvocate for career center customers Ability to travel between centersfor meetings or coverage needs (Cambridge, Woburn, Chelsea) and topartner sites (including, but not limited to employers, job fairs,training vendors, etc.) throughout our 20 cities/towns) Bilingual inSpanish and English preferred Action for Boston Community Development isan Equal Opportunity employer.
