Job Description:This position is responsible for providing clinical,educational, research and administrative support for the implantable deviceprogram. The position coordinates the interrogation of the implantable deviceswhich includes device data that is acquired during onsite device interrogationas well as data that a patient may submit from home to an Internet houseddatabase. The role includes a research component for ongoing studies andmaintenance of several databases. The role also serves to educate fellows,NP/PAs, and other staff on the utility of implantable devices, theintricacies of the interrogated device data, and the role these devices playin the management of arrhythmia patients.

Scope
As a Cardiac Device Tech you need to know how to:Greet and screen patients, obtain proper consents.Clean and prepare patient care areasIndependently interrogate patient devices scheduled within the device clinicduring office hoursProblem solve and then reprogram device as directed with Physician/NP/PAsupervision/direction for implanted cardiac devicesInput patient and device information for new implants along with updatingcurrent informationMonitor patients enrolled in various monitoring programs. Routinely reviewsubmissions by the patient and review with physician if neededOversee and perform remote monitoring with selected patients on a routinebasisDocument in the Specialized Clinics flow sheet within HER or remote monitoringsite, using the assigned physicians standard and routes to physician toreview/interpretInput patient and device information for new implants along with updatingcurrent information- Create procedure notes for physician review and sign offMaintain standards for IAC certification and the Health Care Facility License
QualificationsHigh School Diploma or equivalent, requiredCurrent BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association, requiredInternational Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners (IBHRE) certification,required within four (4) years of hireCertified Rhythm Analysis Tech (CRAT) credential/certification requiredwithin 2 years of hireOne (1) year experience in cardiology, either in a clinic or hospitalsetting OR a current and unrevoked Cardiac Device Technology Certificationfrom a recognized device training school, requiredExperience reviewing and managing remote device transmission (Ex:Carelink, Latitutd and Merlin), required OR Cardiovascular technologistor EP lab technologist holding minimum of RCES, RCIS credential.Proven ability and verifiable experience with cardiac devicesAssociates Degree or Bachelors Degree is highly preferredMinimum of one (1) current/valid certification from the followinglist, preferredRegistered Nurse (RN)Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)ACSM Certified Exercise Physiologist (CEP)
