Summary:Provides a safe and secure school environment for students, staff, andvisitors.

　　Responsibilities:Maintain the safety and security of the students and campus, foster anoptimal learning environment and act as a deterrent to unsafe or poor behaviorby providing high visibility throughout the school; walking and surveyinghallways, common areas, grounds and parking lots' intervening in verbaland physical encounters among the students, defusing hostile situations andenforcing safe school policies regarding weapons, tobacco, illegalsubstances, traffic rules, dress code, etc. Discuss/mediateinfractions with students, provide written accounts of unacceptablebehavior/incidents to administrators and assist with assignment ofdisciplinary measures as necessary. Report unsafe conditions and potentialhealth and safety hazards to administrators.

　　Monitor students during lunch hour inside and outside of the building.

　　Monitor security cameras to oversee the safety and security of students,staff and school assets.

　　Patrol parking lots for unidentified vehicles or unsafe situations.

　　Assist visitors and check for visitor passes. Escort and document unauthorizedvisitors to the office or off campus.

　　Assist administrators, Security Agents, and School Resource Officer(SRO) in the investigation of illegal activity within the school.

　　Conduct regular patrols of the interior and exterior of the campus to ensurecompliance with all security regulations and detect/report/prevent anyunsafe situations.

　　May provide security at sporting events and/or other extracurricularactivities outside of school hours, including weekends and/or evenings.

　　Assist administrators, staff and students during crisis situations,including fire drills, tornado drills, weapons control, bomb threats andlockdowns.

　　Perform other duties as assigned.
