POSITION OVERVIEW
Client seeks a highly-motivated, experienced CAD/CAFM professional to fill the role of CAD/CAFM Technician. The CAD/CAFM Technician will be responsible for providing short-term and long-range space plans that deliver efficient and effective facilities to federal government stakeholders to ensure the organization’s success and vision. This is an outward-facing role which will require interacting directly with project managers and federal customers to track the use of federally owned and leased office spaces. The CAD/CAFM Technician will have responsibility for federal facilities space programs (technology deployments, occupancy management, process improvement) and complex constructions projects (planning, design, construction, occupancy, and closeout). Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to tracking building space utilization, vacancy rates and employment status updating, space usage by program areas, development of reports to support decision-making, training and workforce development to support CAFM and related activities, coordinate new user training, and first echelon help desk support between the client and software provider for new user creation, customer care, and troubleshooting user issues.
LOCATION
This is a remote position. However, there may be times onsite presence will be required at client locations to perform, customer service, training, field verifications and red lining, condition assessments, as well as to ensure coordination of efforts with building management, trades & contractors, architectural & engineering services service providers, and furniture dealers/installers. REQUIREMENTS
US Citizen. Active security clearance is preferred to accelerate the security process for building and server access. Candidate must live within reasonable commuting distance of the DMV (D.C.-Maryland/Virginia) and RVA (Richmond, VA)
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred:
Experience with FM: Systems Workplace and / or Employee modules Computer Aided Facility Management (CAFM) software tool.
Experience in government contracting.
Required: Intermediate AutoCAD Certified User (ACP) or Advanced level with an AutoCAD Certified Professional (ACD) certification with minimum (1) year demonstrated experience.
Must bring demonstrated experience participating in the delivery of assigned projects and programs, including:
Conducting engagements with internal consumers and shared services partners to document and develop project requirements.
Working with internal customers and shared services partners to identify project goals requirements, evaluate existing conditions to clarify project resource requirements, limitations, and develop options and alternatives, and obtains appropriate approvals.
Reviewing design documentation and specifications for value engineering and project optimization opportunities as required.
Experience as administrator of CAFM software platforms.
Knowledge or requirements for working with a secure server for data storage.
Experience using Autodesk AutoCAD and/ or Autodesk Revit 2020.
Proficient in use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, SharePoint) and/or Google Docs.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously; ability to work independently with minimal direction.
Highly professional verbal and written communication skills.
Possess great customer service, organization, and team skills.
Ability to work on-site and support a customer during regular business hours.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Together with FM:Systems, a provider of scalable and intuitive all-in-one digital workplace platform, SteerBridge is currently providing Federal Customers a comprehensive, full-service Computer Aided Facility Management (CAFM) enterprise solution and support services to more effectively manage government real estate portfolios. The CAD/CAFM Technician will: Work cooperatively with ENGA/ARCH and other customer stakeholders including Human Resources and Information Technology teams on the implementation of the project. Be responsible for all project deliverables and coordination of quality reviews of materials before delivery to Customer; ensure compliance with the PM/FM Administrator’s and Customer’s quality programs. Provide guidance and advice on standard tasks required to update the space management database including staff positioning, data input, workspaces, desk reservation application, mobile applications, and system operations. Utilize FM:Systems Computer Aided Facility Management (CAFM) software tool to support customer required tasks and updates, provide new user training set up, and ongoing module or training updates as required. Provide interface with customer’s FM:Systems Platform to develop parameters, data input, and reporting matrices; respond to customer questions and requests regarding the FM:Systems platform. Conduct periodic project meetings with the Customer Task Manager, staff, and contractors to provide updates on task order progress. ((not sure if this will still be applicable once things are live)) Attend meetings with Customer IT and HR to support automated collection of employee and contracts-related information for integration into the space management database. ((same with this- perhaps “attend meetings as needed”)) Perform other project-related duties as assigned by the Customer Task Manager.
