The Main Responsibilities
Job Description
The Business Service Technician will install, maintain and repair a variety of major business communications systems including but not limited to Avaya, Shortel, Cisco etc… Additionally we support B1, HSI and Centrex (Analog and digital).
Note: Job bidding and selection will be administered under mutually agreed guidelines of the local labor agreement with IBEW 843. Attendance conduct and performance will be considered in the selection process.
What We Look For in a Candidate
Qualifications
Required:
• Relevant telephony experience totaling a minimum of 3 years working with B1, HSI, GPON and/or Centrex (analog and digital)
• Knowledge of basics in computer networking (Layer 1 and Layer 2)
• Proficient PC skills (Microsoft/Windows/Office)
• Ability to professionally communicate with our customers and fellow employees based upon our Unifying Principles
• Must have a valid Nebraska Driver's License and a good driving record
• Must have high school diploma or equivalent
• Must be able to read and understand service orders
• Must be able to distinguish colors
• Must be able to work any shift and overtime as required
• Must be able to travel for business related training and/or work assignments
Preferred:
• CCNA
• A+ Certification (Computer Competency)
• N+ Certification (Skill Understanding)
• Core Data – Networking 101-102
• Hosted VoIP experience
• Knowledge of PSAP, Avaya IPO (Basic up to 20 stations), Shortel (Basic up to 20 stations)
• Basic PBX programming skills
Compensation
Union Wage Scale : $15.40 - $31.98/hourly
