About Business Process Analyst, Systems Engineering Assurance

  General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems.

  We are looking for a driven, organized, and analytically minded Business Process Analyst (BPA) for the Systems Engineering Assurance (SEA) Team within the Mechanical Engineering Department of GA-ASI. The Systems Engineering Assurance Team acts as the spearhead for Engineering requirements collaboration in project planning and execution activities. Business processes include those required to identify and distribute work scopes efficiently and appropriately, and to develop and maintain comprehensive and achievable project plans, including design control tailoring, resource planning, and deliverable and milestone planning. The BPA will support estimate, planning, and execution activities, review requirements for written adequacy, provide training to Engineering staff, and report on performance and make recommendations to leadership. Within this role they will have the opportunity to network with others, communicate regularly with leadership, help shape group processes, and contribute to the creation of tools.

  DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  Support engineering estimates, Requests for Engineering Assistance, and Mechanical Engineering Technical Requests where collaboration across engineering disciplines is necessary.

  Audit Planned iSOWs and periodically review and audit Opened iSOWs for sustained adequacy and compliance.

  Periodically review and use the available resource and project planning data to make recommendations to processes, tools, dashboards, and reports.

  As the representative for the SEA Team’s interests, collaborate with the other BPAs in the Project Control Group to best align business practices as necessary.

  Organize, prioritize, and help track through completion all new SEA Team tool requests, feature improvements, upgrades, and bug fixes to current tools.

  May provide leadership and training to team on process changes, updates, or how to resolve recurring issues.

  Responsible for observing all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.

  Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices. Additional Functions other duties as assigned or required.

  Job Qualifications:

  Typically requires a Bachelors degree in a related field and six or more years’ experience as a business process analyst; may substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education.

  Must be a self-starter who understands the importance of organization and timeliness for tracking of requests, status, updates, and reoccurring tasks.

  Strong analytical background who can be a key contributor to the development of analytical tools, reports, and dashboard that support management and business objectives.

  Strong interpersonal skills to influence and guide employees, managers, customers, and other external parties.

  Ability to multi-task and organize work assignments to meet established timetables.

  The ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information

  Excellent computer, documentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

  Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Security clearance.
