Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse Administrator, Colorado Springs,CO: Leads the technical aspects of the College's continuing effort tointegrate disparate data sources into a centralized, Snowflake-basedanalytical data lake, applying industry standards and best practices;works closely with the ITS development staff and database administrator toengineer and administer Snowflake and its associated architecture and ETLprocesses; interfaces with analysts and data consumers to develop logicalviews, data models and reports from the Data Lake; promote the uses,benefits and adoption of the data lake across the campus community.Essential/Primary Responsibilities: Manage and maintain the data warehouseand business intelligence solutions for the College. Design, develop andmaintain data integration processes from various sources into the Data Lake/ Data Warehouse. Develop and maintain reporting and analytics solutions foracademic and administrative users. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related todata warehousing and business intelligence. Collaborate with academicdepartments and administrative offices to optimize data models and schemas.Research and evaluate new technologies to improve our data warehousing andbusiness intelligence solutions. Maintain and expand data integrity andvalidation processes to proactively ensure accuracy of Snowflake data.Participate in the planning and execution of data migration and conversionprojects. Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to understandbusiness requirements and ensure data lake architecture development meets theneeds of the College. Provide technical expertise regarding overall integratedreporting architecture within the Data Lake. Maintain and expand the existingdata lake data architecture, data logical views and data models,interpreting raw source data into standardized business meaningful forms tosupport reporting. Create and maintain documentation on data processing,including functional and technical design documents, test cases, supportdocumentation, migration and installation steps, release notes, mappingdocuments, data flow diagrams, process flow diagrams and ERDs. Maintainawareness of related emerging technologies, developments and/or processeswhich could inform future growth. Conduct capacity planning for growth tosupport current and future needs. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computerscience, information systems, or related field. 3 years of experience inthe following: RDBMS databases. Writing, debugging, andtuning/optimizing advanced SQL queries, including but not limited to:left, inner and outer joins of multiple tables; inline subqueries; casestatements; creating views/materialized views; CRUD operations. Buildingenterprise level reports, charts and dashboards using Power BI, Tableau,IBM Cognos, or Evision's Argos. Extracting, cleaning and modeling rawdata into ready to analyze format. Creating and troubleshooting PL/SQLstored procedures, functions, materialized view and views. 2 years ofexperience in the following: Recommending, evaluating, testing, andimplementing latest features in Business Intelligence and Extract Load andTransform (ELT) process. Defining, capturing, and documenting businessrequirements. Working with other infrastructure teams seamlessly as necessary(DBA, Server, Network, Security, etc.) Training end-users andpower users on Business Intelligence report usage and data best practices.Creating warehouses, data marts, databases, all database objects(schemas, tables, views, file format etc.), and access managementpolicies in Snowflake. 1 year of experience in the following*: Technicaldesign and documentation for data pipelines, business intelligence and datawarehousing. All phases of SDLC from requirements analysis, design,coding, testing and delivery of products. Working with large, complex,and incomplete data sets. Using a Kanban, board style project managementtool. Performing business intelligence tools administration, includingcreation of users and groups, removing inactive users, and conductinglicense audits to ensure adherence to licensing requirements.
