We have an exciting and challenging role within our team as a Trauma Business Development Manager for our DePuy Synthes business.
What you will be doing:
Drive regional sales growth in line with the annual marketing strategy as agreed with the Sales Management team.
You will not be managing day to day case loads, the role consists of targeted accounts that hand over to the sales teams in the region
Develop new business win opportunities (competitive acquisition plans, business development or market expansion) collaborating with the Regional Sales Managers, Sales Specialists & Clinical Specialists in target accounts.
Co-ordinates and drives the execution of the new business win with the UK Sales Team, Regional and UK Marketing teams and other relevant functional areas.
Leads the implementation plan for the acquired new business win and co-ordinates the activity across the organisation.
Coach and support the Regional Team’s Sales Team with focused activities to drive the regional performance (leadership to support Regional Sales Manager).
Lead on the introduction of new product innovations in focus regional opportunities.
Establish and develop strong partnerships with key opinion leaders.
Continually develops a pipeline of potential new business wins.
Work with the Trauma Development Manager team within the business and within other JJMD Business Units for National Account Targets.
Supports engagement with the sales management, sales consultants, and marketing team, to ensure we harness the full extent of our company resources and deliver more than our competitors.
Build strong networks and positive relationships that enable the identification of mutually beneficial opportunities to ensure growth.
Support Regional Sales Manager by leading on DPS value offering and beneficial customer solutions to positively influence buying behaviours.
Drive innovative education solutions to help drive the marketing strategy in the region.
Understand and translate technical information pertinent to the procedure and product platform, driving process improvement.
Maintain up-to-date market and industry knowledge.
Key areas of responsibility:
Sales growth responsibility in targeted accounts as defined by sales management.
Engage and lead in commercial discussions with hospital procurement and business management teams.
Develop/ build positive relationships with national key customers and opinion leaders.
Conducts business activities in compliance with ethics and legal requirements.
Qualifications
What you will bring:
Successful sales targets achieved in recent years in Medical Devices or related fields.
Demonstrated repeated success in converting significant competitor business.
Ability to analyse marketplace to ensure focus on and acquisition of new business.
Problem solving and negotiation skills to deliver positive outcomes.
Excellent communication skills –written, spoken and presentation ability.
Excellent commercial understanding.
Influencing and business networking skills – understands partners requirements and develop strategies that drives the adoption of technologies and become a trusted business adviser providing solutions.
Strong record of coaching and driving an increase in performance through non-direct reports
Demonstrate flexibility, adaptability & resilience skills in line with a change in the annual marketing strategy.
Ability to build trust with customers by asking probing questions that helps the customer achieve their objectives, acting in a consultative manner.
Effectively utilise the Company’s selling tools (Integrity Selling) and customer relationship management system.
Maintain deep clinical expertise and product knowledge.
Networking – dedicated in business situations; expands network continually; comfortable in meeting new people and stimulating conversation.
Collaborating and teaming – standout colleague, actively engages and collaborates across functional boundaries.

What you will need:
Understanding of the external secondary care environment.
Proven successful track record in Orthopaedic selling preferable
