  Job Title: Business Development Leader - Capture & Growth (Government Contracting)

  Job Description:

  Sumaria Systems has an immediate opening to lead corporate growth. This position reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and will lead the organic capture, proposal development operations and support inorganic growth efforts. The scope of growth opportunities includes current customers; the development of new business opportunities under existing umbrella contracts; identification of new contract vehicles, support strategic planning, identify, evaluate, and pursue strategic opportunities with new customers and partners.

  Primary Responsibilities and Duties for Business Development Leader - Capture & Growth are:

  Helping to develop and implement a comprehensive growth strategy.

  Managing and motivating the team responsible for growth initiatives.

  Develop capture plans, formulate a winning capture strategy, and identify the resources necessary to execute the capture plan.

  Identify and qualify opportunities and grow the pipeline both independently and in collaboration with Business Development.

  Lead development and implementation of large deal capture plans (win strategy, timeline, and backlog), ensuring it is maintained, up to date, and properly reported.

  Perform gap analysis of capabilities against customer requirements and identifies salient past performance references.

  Form and lead cross-functional opportunity pursuit teams of partners, solution architects, analysts, and proposal managers managing level of effort and direction.

  Engage support from corporate resources to support Opportunity Capture, including Graphics, Marketing, Contracts, Recruiting, and Pricing.

  Perform market analysis, identify opportunities, develop, and execute capture plans, and monitor competitor activity for each capture.

  Assist in growing revenue by identifying and developing new business opportunities/growth areas while maintaining valuable relationships with current government customers and other contractors.

  Ensure the continued growth and success of the company through strategic BD planning, team building, developing key partnerships; support marketing activities; troubleshooting unsuccessful efforts and analyzing patterns of success.

  Develop and maintain high quality relationships with customers and industry partners.

  Work to develop new business opportunities with various DoD and other Federal customers.

  Lead business capture activities to support the development of proposal documents for contract opportunities.

  Coordinate with other contractors and customers on business development and staffing activities to ensure effective proposal development and transition into contracts as required in support of subcontract and prime contract responsibilities.

  Identify and qualify potential team members for opportunities to prime and other contractors for opportunities to subcontract.

  Provide on-going support and expertise to all management personnel, leading and assisting them in establishing and meeting company financial goals and objectives.

  As required, assist Proposal Team with development of proposal content and act as -Book Boss- for Technical Volumes.

  Assist senior leadership in budgeting for Bid & Proposal dollars.

  Skilled at creation and maintenance of individual-s Pipeline forecasting and budget.

  Lead and mentor other BD function team members including Capture.

  Oversee company Marketing activities

  Providing regular reports and updates on growth performance to the CEO, Board of Directors and other members of the executive team.

  Minimum Qualifications and/or Skills:

  Substantial experience in a Government Contracting Environment

  Proven strong leadership and mentoring skills

  Strong analytical, problem solving, math skills and general business acumen.

  Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

  Strong attention to detail and ability to review one-s own work.

  Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and communicate with a variety of stakeholders.

  Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and Adobe. Familiarity with WinCenter, GovWin and BGov strongly preferred.

  US Citizenship required.

  Preferred Experience (Not Required)

  Experience with HTRO & Best Value propositions.

  Military Experience preferred in any of the service branches (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marines, Space Force) or Other Government Agencies (DHS, DOJ, FBI, DEA, CBP).

  Experience with a CRM Tool.

  Experience with Shipley Capture or SCRUM processes.

  Education: Bachelor-s degree required; master-s degree preferred.

  Years Experience: 8+ years of business development experience serving federal government customers. Track record of experience leading growth in new markets - whether they be geographies or customer segments.

  Travel: 25%+

  Security Clearance Required: Secret or ability to secure DoD security clearance at the Secret level.

  Position Type: Full Time, regular

  Work Location: Remote: Huntsville, AL, Dayton, OH or Washington D.C, strongly preferred
