The Position
Budget Analysts prepare and implement budgets including the development of expenditure projections, narrative justification of programs, and detailed biennial spending plans; review and analyze budget requests and adjustments; and ensure compliance with budgetary directives, policies, regulations and limitations.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
This position is assigned to the Fiscal Services Division of the Nevada Department of Corrections (NDOC), and is located in Carson City, Nevada. Fiscal Services is responsible for overseeing a group of NDOC budgets. This position works within a team of Budget Analysts, that are each assigned a budget workload. The incumbent is responsible for preparing and implementing budgets for one or more agencies; developing expenditures projections; narrative justifications for programs; detailed biennial spending plans; and analyzing budget requests and adjustments. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business or public administration, accounting, finance, economics, or closely related field and three years of professional budgeting, accounting, economic or management analysis and projection, staff analyst or auditing experience, one year of which was equivalent to a Budget Analyst I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.Special Notes
