Formula for Success
Our Mount Gambier team play a key role in the BASF North American breeding program for Canola seed.
As Breeding Agronomist, you will enjoy a varied role overseeing the lifecycle of Canola seed production. You'll be responsible for planning and executing the trials for our seed, inclusive of trial site set up, data collection and communication to our Canadian colleagues.
You’ll:
Coordinate and manage field trials to produce seed and collect data for the North American Breeding program.
Assist in all aspects of the field program; contracting land, land preparation, seeding, pollination management, harvest and seed shipping.
Collaborate with the Mount Gambier and Canadian team to ensure goals are met.
Be field-based and hands on to ensure operations & activities are on time and to budget.
Ensure all operations satisfy regulatory, stewardship and compliance requirements.
Ingredients for Success
To be successful in this role, you’ll have previous experience in an agronomy-based role and an understanding or interest in Seed Production. You’ll have a strong focus on detail and enjoy a role with a balance of planning and hands-on production.
You’ll:
Show natural leadership in ensuring that people follow guidelines and plans effectively.
Demonstrate the ability to collaborate with a diverse range of people.
Display strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Have a valid driver’s license, a MR or HR license would be beneficial.
Machinery and equipment operation experience preferable but not essential.
