JOB REQUIREMENTS: Overview Inspects, calibrates, repairs, installs, andmaintains medical equipment and instrumentation used in health caredelivery field by performing the following duties and other duties asassigned. Responsibilities Services various equipment and apparatusincluding but not limited to patient monitors, electrocardiographs,blood gas analyzers, x-ray units, defibrillators, electrosurgical units,anesthesia apparatus, pacemakers, blood pressure transducers,spirometers, sterilizers, diathermy equipment and other relatedtechnical paraphernalia. Safety tests medical equipment to ensurepatient and staff safety from electrical or mechanical hazards. Consultswith medical or research staff to ascertain that equipment functionsproperly and safely. Demonstrates and explains correct operation ofequipment to medical personnel. Demonstrates proficiency in entering,completing, retrieving information regarding work orders, assets, PMschedules, and other functions and applications of the CMMS database aspertains to daily operation of the department. Modifies or developsinstruments or devices. Works collectively with salesperson or servicetechnician or equipment manufacturers or their sales representatives toassure proper operation of equipment. Participates in managinginventories and operational budget, taking snow call and helping withspecial events. May be required to work flexible hours, alternate shiftsand weekends. May require travel with personal or company vehicle. Maybe assigned to any Mercyhealth locations. Education and ExperienceAssociate Degree in Bio-Medical Engineering/Electronics or related orrelated Military equivalent certifications or student within 6 months ofgraduation required. In lieu of a degree, 15 years of direct experiencewill be considered. Experience in a Bio-medical program preferred.Certification/Licensure Certification as a Bio-Medical Technician byAAMI preferred For those driving Mercyhealth vehicles: Maintain a validdriver\'s license. Have and maintain an acceptable driving record perMercyhealth\'s HR.100 Fleet and Driver Safety policy.
