　　Sodexo is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician I for UTMB (the University of Texas Medical Branch) located on Galveston Island in South Texas.

　　For more than a century, the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB Health) has served the needs of Texas and Texans from its large Galveston campus, long anchored by the John Sealy Hospital.

　　Established in 1891 as the University of Texas Medical Department, UTMB has grown from one building, 23 students and 13 faculty members to a modern health science center with campuses in Galveston, League City and Angleton, more than 3,200 students and about 900 faculty.

　　Sodexo’s growing Healthcare Technology Management Division is seeking solution-oriented candidates who excel at customer service with a proven success as an experienced Biomedical Equipment Technician I to support Healthcare Technology service for UTMB in Galveston, TX. The main role/responsibilities of the position will be to ensure all related biomedical equipment is maintained in a quality and timely manner. The ideal candidate will have outstanding customer service and communications skill as well as strong technical skills and a commitment to deliver excellent repair service in an expedient manner.

　　The ideal Biomedical Equipment Technician I will have:

　　a minimum of 1 year of experience repairing, maintaining and calibrating medical devices and beds independently and/or equivalent college coursework in similar capacities

　　experience in a hospital or healthcare setting

　　experience with minor repairs (preferably on beds, stretchers, IV pumps and other smaller equipment)

　　the ability to make decisions regarding troubleshooting and repairing medical devices

　　excellent communication, customer service and time management skills

　　*A valid driver’s license and acceptable driver’s license record check is required.*

　　Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree (or equivalent experience) in electronic, biomedical engineering or a discipline geared toward managing maintaining and repairing clinical equipment within a healthcare environment and/or equivalent of military BMET program and/or AAMI certified
