University Advancement (UA) supports the entire CMU community in building relationships with key constituencies and securing the financial resources the university needs to continue its ascent. As the division grows, we are seeking a Bio Records Specialist. This is an exciting opportunity if you thrive in an interesting and challenging work environment. Reporting to the senior associate director, Bio Records you will enter and maintain confidential biographical information on individuals and organizations in the University Advancement database system; assist other users in locating and interpreting system data; process incoming and outgoing mail, make copies, answer phones, take messages, and other administrative tasks as needed.
Your core responsibilities will include:Maintaining address, occupation, and related data for all entities on the system by utilizing established procedures and new system functionality as it is made available.Retrieving and processing updates received through the university's and the business school's online alumni directories.Researching demographic and corporate information related to data updates.Receiving, sorting, tallying, and prioritizing daily biographic updates.Composing correspondence concerning data inquiries.Responding to telephone inquiries and assisting non-users in locating needed information.Answering phones, taking messages, processing incoming and outgoing mail, and making copies.Other duties as assigned.

QualificationsA high school diploma or equivalent combination of training and experience.Zero to one year of experience. Salesforce database experience a plus.Ability to learn the database system. Ability to maintain accurate records.Excellent typing skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
