L3Harris in Tewkesbury and Fleet are part of our ICI division, we work closely with UK Government and Security Agencies primarily in the areas of crypto/cyber security, electronic warfare, counter drone capabilities and situation awareness projects.
About the role:
As the Bid’s Manager you will report to the Head of Bids, your role will be to manage the compilation of small medium and complex fully costed proposals. You will be responsible and accountable for the full content of the final proposal. As the Bid’s Manager you must ensure that full governance is applied to the written and business content. You will also be responsible for Bid Budgets ensuring that you submit a fully compliant Bid within time and budget.

What You’ll Be Doing:
Constructing the fully resource Bid Delivery Schedule with MS Project and loading to Project Server
Support all Gate reviews from PQQ to final submission.
Lead Bid Kick off meetings and appropriately timed stand up sessions
Project manage all aspects of Bid delivery ensuring bid deadlines are met.
Produce weekly reports on status of their bid portfolio
Ensure all relevant stakeholders are updated as to the progress, Issues, concerns and risks of all their bids.
Liaise with all disciplines within the company fostering a can do attitude
Bid responsibility will range from a few thousand to a number of millions UK sterling value
Carry out lessoned learnt activities post bid submission ensuring these are fed back to the team and actioned accordingly
Undertake any other activity as reasonably requested by management
Essential Skills:
5+ years’ bid experience combined with a proven track record of delivering winning opportunities, preferably in a technical engineering environment, with specific Defence and Prime/Teaming/Partner relationships and experience.
Strong interpersonal skills combined with experience of leading teams and managing relationships with all levels of the business
Highly computer literate in MS Office and preferably MS Project.
A self-motivated team player (non-team player need not apply), able to operate with the minimum of supervision and communicate clearly with employees at all levels.
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
What else could be helpful to be successful in this role:
Business / Science / Engineering degree or HNC/HND or equivalent qualification
A recognised qualification in Bid Management
Experience of working with Government organisations and international customers
Current security clearance is an advantage (must be willing to obtain)
Understanding of manufacturing processes
Understanding of business strategy and market analysis
Working knowledge of SAP
