Job Summary and Qualifications
The BI Development Manager is a leader within the Parallon Data and Analytics Department responsible for influencing and directing new analytic solutions, enhancing existing products, and providing operational oversight. This role interacts with both IT&S and Business partners, both internal and external clients, to fulfill analytical data needs using optimal tools. Solutions should be cost effective, sustainable, and automated maximizing productive development time. Solutions are often sourced from multiple environments with large volumes of data adding complexity to solution designs. This role manages a team of engineers and analysts, both FTE and CTE resources located onshore and/or offshore. In addition to development, this team will also plan and execute software and hardware upgrades; maintain product availability and performance within SLA parameters; conduct tool training; and maintain ownership of the access provisioning process, code migration and version control of metadata.
What you will do in this role:
Oversee development activities across multiple Business Intelligence tools such as MicroStrategy, Tableau, Power BI, etc
Align resources to meet organization’s prioritized demands
Keep current on emerging analytic technologies and trends
Contribute to BI and product roadmaps
Build positive and collaborative relationships with business partners
Engage in consultative work and joint-development with various IT&S and Business development teams
Provide Tier II and Tier III level support to customers as necessary
Set up and manage On-call support for production systems, job streams, and processes
Create and maintain development standards
Develop and deliver education and training opportunities
Lead problem analysis & resolution efforts
Showcase new functionality within existing analytical tools
Schedule testing of software releases and coordinate upgrades with business partners
Manage vendor relationships and influence patch releases for product deficiencies
Participate in development and execution of disaster recovery exercises to ensure high availability
Set and achieve SLAs that deliver high levels of availability, reliability, and security
Manage vendor relationships and influence fixes for product deficiencies
Establish and review internal controls to ensure goals, objectives, standards, and benchmarks for the
department
Participate in the Internal Audit exercises
Identify, develop, and promote continuous improvement and best practice in processes and performance for improving department functions
Manage team engagement scores above corporate benchmarks
What qualifications you will need:
Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent work experience
Experience in BI Product development across multiple tools including Microstrategy, Essbase, Longview,
Business Objects, Microsoft, and Tableau
10+ years’ experience in Business Intelligence and/or Software Development
5+ years’ experience managing architects, administrators, developers, analysts, FTEs and CTE, onshore and offshore
10+ years overall experience
Healthcare experience, Project Management, Revenue Cycle Management experience preferred
Experience interfacing with senior level internal and external stakeholders
