What you will be doing?
The Behavioral Health Technician Supervisor is responsible for supervising the Behavioral Health Technicians, observing client behaviors, recording client conditions, and ensuring that clients are lead to therapeutic and recreational activities. The Behavioral Health Technician Supervisor will work various shifts and ensure that the clients in the facility are monitored and safe at all times. The Behavioral Health Technician Supervisor is also expected to complete the majority of admissions, unless outside of their scheduled hours.
What tasks are required?
Assigns duties to the Lead and Behavioral Health Technicians
Supervises and schedules the Behavioral Health Technicians
Ensures that clients are monitored and kept safe.
Ensures that client information is accurately entered by BHTs into database (EHR).
Promotes a healthy recovery environment.
Completes hiring, payroll, and Performance Improvement Plans with Behavioral Health Technicians.
Completes the majority of Admissions of clients. If outside of scheduled hours, BHT Supervisor will assign a BHT to complete a scheduled admission.
Resolves Technician issues or escalates to the Clinical Director as appropriate.
Trains all BHTs on admission process, job duties, and completes the Training Needs Assessment & Training Plan with supervisees.
Ensure all clients are accounted for at all times.
Be respectful and caring to clients but must maintain proper boundaries.
Observes client behaviors.
Adhere to safety standards.
Enters client information into a database (EMR).
Ability to explain and complete admissions paperwork.
Ability to complete the admissions process with incoming clients including search, Urine Drug Screen, Breathalyzer.
Promotes a healthy recovery environment.
Performs general housekeeping functions.
Under the direction of supervisor, establish appropriate therapeutic boundaries, utilization of identified clinical resources to review boundaries, limit setting for behavior, and develop therapeutic relations with clients.
Assists in monitoring the therapeutic activities with patients, assist other team members as needed.
Work directly with the clients and provide proper recovery support.
Special Projects as needed.
Positively promotes current organization to prospective clients and employees.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Complete annual education requirements.
Maintains standards of professional society procedures and ethical behavior.
Always maintain client confidentiality.
Report to work on time and as scheduled.
Wear identification while on duty.
Participate in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities.
Always represent the organization in a positive and professional manner.
Communicate the mission, ethics, and goals of the organization.
What we need from you?
High school diploma or equivalent experience required.
Demonstrated computer proficiency.
Supervisory experience Preferred
Bachelors or higher in a behavioral health field Preferred
Certified Recovery Specialist (CRS) or similar certification, or willingness to pursue
CPI Trainer Certified preferred
Valid Driver's License
Growth mindset
Excellent customer service skills and ability to interact with staff and clients in a professional manner.
Ability to monitor activities of individuals in need of substance abuse treatment.
Ability to screen for danger to self or others.
Demonstrated adherence to acceptable ethical and behavioral standards of conduct.
Participation in continuing Professional Development.
Knowledge of strategies for treating alcohol, cocaine, and other drug abuse.
Skilled in meeting client needs in keeping with state required staff-to-client ratio.
Ability to provide education and information to individuals and groups, through formal and/or informal processes, concerning their substance abuse.
Ability to follow procedures in crisis situations.
Communicate the mission, ethics and goals of the organization.
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
Ability to walk up and down stairs during emergency drills or situations.
Has no mental, nervous, organic, or functional disease or psychiatric disorder likely to interfere with his/her ability to drive safely (I.E. holding a medical marjuana card.)
