Job Overview
The Behavioral Health Clinician is responsible for direct patient care andsafety including diagnostic, assessment, treatment, and dischargeplanning for children, adolescents, and their families in Outpatient,Inpatient or Emergency Department settings.

Qualifications
EDUCATION: Master's degree in psychology, social work or related field.EXPERIENCE: 2 years in a mental health setting/agencyCERTIFICATION(S): American Heart Association Basic Life Support forHealthcare Provider or American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer orASHI Basic Life Support for Health ProvidersLICENSURE: State of Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA)Licensed Professional Counselor or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)or Licensed Marriage and Family Counselor.
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSAn employee in this position may be called upon to do any or all of thefollowing essential functions. These examples do not include all of thefunctions which the employee may be expected to perform.Provides direct patient care and management of children and adolescents bydeveloping and implementing treatment and intervention plans and conductingneeds assessment to gather patient information.Provides crisis intervention to families and provides interventions withfamilies to support discharge to home and stabilization. Also develops atherapeutic relationship with patients and families to assist withpsychological problems.Completes diagnostic behavioral health assessments for treatment or crisisintervention. Compiles and analyzes data and prepares case records,reports, and documents that comply with state and federal standards inproviding case notes, treatment plans, and evaluations.Collaborates with other disciplines or departments on patient care and unitsafety and serves as a liaison with multi-disciplinary care teams and externalcommunity agencies to dentify, implement, and monitor treatment goals.Presents case presentations and provides consultation to medical teams andcallers.Coordinates admissions to programs within the Pediatric Mental HealthInstitute or community programs and coordinates treatment with internal andexternal services.Leads, monitors, evaluates, and collaborates educational and therapeuticgroups for patients; participates in clinical rounds and maintainscommunication with unit or department leadership.Attends educational in-services for Behavioral Health CliniciansParticipates in unit committees and educational offerings; complies with allpolicies and procedures related to the Pediatric Mental Health Institute andthe hospital; and provides...
