If so, the University of Rochester’s Laboratory for Laser Energetics (LLE) is looking for you ! Here at LLE, we take pride in being a national resource for research and education in both science and technology! Our focus is on using lasers to create fusion energy! Pretty cool, right?! You have the chance to join our team! LLE is looking for its next Beamlines Technician.
A Beamlines Tech is responsible for:
Supporting the operation of equipment and instrumentation for laser physics experiments
Precision alignment of optical systems
Troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues
Performing preventative maintenance
Supporting engineers in design and installation of new equipment
Shift flexibility is required (Morning and Evening shifts)
What’s needed to be successful in this role:
Strong technical aptitude
Ability to work in a cleanroom environment
Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
High degree of manual dexterity
Excellent verbal and written communication
Strong interpersonal skills working in a team-based environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn additional software
You’re a great candidate for this role if you:
Have availability to work second shift
Have experience with optical, mechanical, electrical systems
Have experience with handling precision optical components
Are proficient with reading and interpreting mechanical and electrical schematics
Have technical writing experience
How to qualify for this role:

Pay Range
Pay Range: $22.02 - $36.06 Hourly
The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
