  Journeyman is in the business of providing one-of-a-kind, authentic private event experiences in beautiful, historic spaces. The Banquet Captain will support the Events Operations Manager and the Hospitality team in executing weddings, social events, and corporate outings.

  YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  EVENT EXECUTION

  Monitor the inventory of supplies, equipment, and furniture, providing needs to EOM.Participate in writing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for events.Assist managers and organizers with planning the layout and logistics of events.Work with the EOM to create and manage staff shifts and timetables.Ensure events are executed on time, adjusting as needed.Ensure all work areas are fully stocked and ready for the following shift.Provide end-of-day reports to capture event service issues.GUEST SERVICE

  Welcome guests upon arrival and assist with seating arrangements.Tend to guest requests, questions, and complaints.Maintain high standards of safety and cleanliness in all areas of the venue.Understand and communicate Journeyman product and service offerings.Provide post-event communication to guests and collect uest satisfaction metrics.Support the restaurant hospitality team as needed.TEAM SUPERVISION

  Provide staff with standardized training, including customer service and serving etiquette.Review Event Sheets and floorplan at the beginning of each shift, guiding personnel to set the room as contracted.Run the floor and coordinate the food and drink service with kitchen and service staff.Ensure all applicable safety regulations are communicated and adhered to.Enforce compliance with all food and beverage regulations, including legal service of alcohol.Remain in communication with the EOM and Event Leads regarding any special needs.Ensure all team members adhere to grooming and appearance standards.Requirements

  Thorough knowledge of food and beverage service preparation and operational procedures as would normally be acquired through a high school education and at least two years of relevant experience preferred.Thorough knowledge of state liquor laws as applied to food and beverage service operational practices and procedures as would be acquired through and at least two years of relevant experience preferred in progressive roles.Current manager and alcohol ServSafe certifications.Understanding of basic point-of-sale (POS) functionality and setup.Familiarity with an Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) is a plus.
