Tire Technician Job Duties: responsible for the dismounting,mounting and balancing of all tires sold in house and brought in bycustomers. The Tire Technician will also be required to install orrepair any other tire products brought in. General job functions includedriving a customers vehicle onto the lift, adequately securing thevehicle prior to dismounting the tires and wheels and then reattachingall tires and wheels to ensure proper safe operation of the vehicle.Other duties include handling scrap (or take-off-tires) placing themneatly into the storage area, and many miscellaneous duties that youwill be directed to perform. Automobile Technician Mechanic Job Duties: Keeps equipmentavailable for use by inspecting and testing vehicles; completingpreventive maintenance such as, engine tune-ups, oil changes, tirerotation and changes, wheel balancing, replacing filters. Maintainsvehicle functional condition by listening to operator complaints;conducting inspections; repairing mechanical system malfunctions;replacing parts and components. Verifies vehicle serviceability byconducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems. Complies withstate vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustioncontrol standard. Maintains vehicle records by recording service andrepairs. Keeps shop equipment operating by following operatinginstructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies;performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs. Inspect vehiclesfor damage and record findings so that necessary repairs can be made.Test drive vehicles and test components and systems, using equipmentsuch as infrared engine analyzers, compression gauges, and computerizeddiagnostic devices. Test and adjust repaired systems to meetmanufacturers\' performance specifications. Repair, reline, replace, andadjust brakes. Confer with customers to obtain descriptions of vehicleproblems and to discuss work to be performed and future repairrequirements. Tear down, repair, and rebuild faulty assemblies, such aspower systems, steering systems, and linkages. Perform routine andscheduled maintenance services, such as oil changes, lubrications, andtune-ups. Change spark plugs, fuel filters, air filters, and batteriesin hybrid electric vehicles. Repair and service air conditioning,heating, engine cooling, and electrical systems.
