What’s a typical day as an Automation Tech? You’ll be: You´ll maintain the plant's automated machinery and equipment in an optimal operative condition in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and following company procedures.
Responsible for corrective maintenance tasks on equipment.
Responsible for executing preventive and predictive maintenance tasks.
Responsible for adjustments and calibrations in automated equipment.
Carry out corresponding activities for equipment validation.
Responsible for correctly filling out forms related to their work
Responsible for the application of order and cleanliness of the corresponding work area (5's).
Observe and practice all Company Safety Rules and regulations when performing work as well as being knowledgeable in OSHA Standards and other occupational hazards.
Disassemble mechanical devices such as Plastic extruders, cylinders, pumps, valves, and gearboxes to remove defective parts and make lasting repairs.
Uses appropriate lifting devices, hand tools, power tools, and occasionally fabricating fixtures.
Reassembles mechanical devices and install new parts.
Set up and operate Industrial machining equipment including but not limited to (drill presses, grinders, welders, mills, lathes, and other metal working tools to fabricate and repair parts.
Responsible for correcting and/or reporting out of the standard performance.
Responsible for notifying the supervisor when assistance from the external department is needed.
Responsible for the safekeeping and care of the assigned and commonly used tools and reporting any damage to the tools for their replacement.
Ability to develop and implement continuous improvement through the kaizen methodology utilizing PPI tools.
Report the pertinent Hazard IDs that you identify in your environmental and safety activities.
This job might be an outstanding fit if you:
Technical career in a related area such as Mechatronics, Electronic, mechanical electrical / Electromechanical technician
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Preferably 3+ years of experience in automated systems, PLC programming, Vision Systems, Sensors, Robot fine-tuning, or equivalent. Connecting to PLC or Vision systems to upload and download programs.
PLC programming, ladder diagram, blocks, and structure. Connecting to PLC or Vision systems to upload and download using IP adresses.
Programming of HMIs.
Desirable knowledge of ultrasonic sealers
Solid knowledge of mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics, control, and electricity.
Able to interpret mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic diagrams
Management of workshop work tools (multimeter, ammeter, micrometer, vernier, precision levels, drill ohmmeter, hand tools).
Bonus: familiar with any of the following items: PLCs (AB/ Rockwell, Siemens B&R), (Fanuc - 6 axis robots and Fanuc SCARA robots), Vision Systems (Keyence, Cognex and custom), Sensors (Banner, Keyence - photo electric & laser displacement. Actuator position sensors 2 & 3 wire. Understanding of PNP/ NPN signals, light on/off and dark on/off sensor selections. Sink or source inputs and outputs.
