Position Overview The Auction Advanced Technician must be able from basic to complex vehicle repairs. The Technician must perform vehicle inspections and repairs as assigned in accordance with AutoNation Auction standards. Who Would I Interact With? This position interacts daily with Vehicle Inspectors, Auction Inspection Manager, and other Supervisors. What are the day-to-day responsibilities? Diagnose the cause of malfunction and be able to note recommendations on inspection sheet. Perform needed repairs upon approval from Management. Communicate with Auction Inspection Manager about parts needed. Performing work with efficiency and accuracy. Examining the vehicle to determine if additional safety or service work is required. Record all work to be performed and completing the work order in the Auction System as soon as the job is complete. Stay current in the latest diagnostic methods and service techniques for the vehicles. Become familiar with latest bulletins, service manuals and other service publications. Communicate regularly with Auction Inspection Manager to confirm repair information and diagnostic information. Follow federal, state and local regulations such as the disposal of hazardous wastes. What are the requirements for this job High School diploma or equivalent preferred. 3+ years experience as an automotive technician Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and information Must have a valid driver's license Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles Manual dexterity, good judgment and ability to operate power and hand tools and other types of machinery safely Knowledge of all aspects of automotive repair and maintenance Graduate of mechanical vocational trade school or equivalent experience Ability to operate an automobile Must have technical aptitude to performed complex mechanical repairs.
