About Attribution Analyst

The Investment Performance Team in Nuveen’s Global Investment Operations organization prepares performance calculations, reporting, Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS) compliant presentations, performance attribution, portfolio analytics and other related deliverables for Nuveen’s investment book of record. The reporting and analysis produced by the team is used by portfolio management, marketing, client service, compliance and other areas across the enterprise to inform investment decisions and strategy, support client retention efforts and promote new business growth.

Within the Investment Performance team, the Attribution and Analytics team owns the decomposition and analysis of Nuveen’s performance book of record including security results, performance attribution, portfolio characteristics and exposures. The team broadly supports Nuveen’s internal stakeholders and external client base with subject matter expertise and capabilities to explain the key drivers of performance results and provide meaningful portfolio analytics insights.

The successful candidate will:

Demonstrate proficiency in investment performance analysis concepts including industry best practices for attribution techniques in equity and fixed income asset classes Possess analytical and technical skills sufficient to explain investment results through performance analysis Exhibit ownership and accountability for completing all deliverables timely and accurately Communicate effectively within the team, project groups and business partner and stakeholder communities Build productive working relationships with colleagues and contribute to a positive culture Be highly organized and adaptable to support change in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

Analyze and explain investment performance results, portfolio construction, and investment characteristics

Create standard and customized analysis in response to inquiries from investment teams and client portfolio managers

Produce recurring and ad hoc reporting to support a broad array of business requirements and use cases

Build and maintain constructive working relationships with internal stakeholders

Escalate risks promptly and participate in resolution actions

Contribute to the upkeep of procedural documentation Identify improvements to create scale, reduce risk and add value

Participate in cross-functional working groups and project teams

Support a productive, satisfying team environment consistent with Nuveen’s culture and ethics principles

Educational Requirements

Required

2+ years of experience in performance attribution and portfolio analytics functions

Experience with performance analysis and attribution methodologies.

Experience with portfolio analytics methods across equity and fixed income asset classes

Preferred

Experience using Bloomberg PORT and/or FactSet attribution and portfolio analysis capabilities.

Experience with SQL

Base Pay Range: $24.75/hr. - $48.13/hr.

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
