  Join Lane County's Surveyor's Office to Restore Corners and Shape the Future!

  NOTE: Position pays a 5% differential for an Oregon PLS (Professional Land Surveyor).

  About the Position

  The County Surveyor's Office, part of the Engineering & Construction Services Division in Lane County Public Works, is at the forefront of shaping Lane County's landscape. We provide essential property and road information support to individuals, landowners, consultants, and government entities. Additionally, we oversee Land Survey/Plat submissions from both private and public Land Surveyors practicing in Lane County.

  At the heart of Lane County's Surveyor's Office, the Associate Surveyor plays a pivotal role in our mission to restore and preserve the integrity of Public Land Survey System corners throughout our beautiful county.

  As an Associate Surveyor, you will be entrusted with a variety of critical tasks:

  Employ cutting-edge technology, including electronic calculators, computer programs, and computer-aided drafting tools, to perform precise survey calculations and data processing.

  Operate state-of-the-art survey equipment, such as robotic total stations and GNSS systems, ensuring accuracy in field surveys.

  Dive into survey research activities, leveraging your analytical skills to provide valuable insights and support to our team.

  Collaborate closely with our dedicated survey crew to achieve the common goal of maintaining the legacy of Lane County's land surveying.

  Surveying - Responsibilities will generally include examining public land system corners; researching survey records; performing field surveying and staking and performing complex calculations; updating and providing plat data for GPS mapping; and researching land records to determine rights-of-way.

  About the Division

  The Lane County Surveyor’s office provides property and road information support for individuals, landowners, consultants, and government entities seeking survey information and documentation in Lane County. We also process and review Land Survey/Plat related submissions for recording and filing from private and public Land Surveyors practicing in Lane County.

  Schedule: Monday - Friday: 7:00am – 3:30pm.

  This is an ADMIN-PRO represented position

  QUALIFICATIONS

  Training:

  Bachelor's degree in a field related to area of assignment; and sufficient experience as necessitated by the competency level of the position. Experience:

  Entry/Contributing Level: 0-2 years of professional experience; entry level for incumbents with bachelor's degree.Licensing Requirements :

  Valid Oregon Driver's License.

  Preferred Requirements:

  5 years' experience in public land survey system restoration, or applicable land surveying work.

  Professional Land Surveyor Designation.

  Health insurance coverage becomes effective the first of the month following your first 30 days as an eligible employee.

  Medical/Rx/Vision - Lane County offers medical, prescription and vision exam coverage for you and your eligible dependents. The plan options and costs per month for 2018 are outlined below:

  If you enroll in the HDHP the County will contribute to your HSA: $1,500 (individual) or $3,000 (family) annually. This amount is prorated based on date of hire.

  Eligible employees who complete a Health History Risk Assessment (HHRA), Biometric Screening, and Comprehensive Health Review (CHR) at the Live Well Center receive a $20 per month credit.

  Wellness Clinic - The Live Well Center is for Lane County benefits-eligible employees, spouses and dependents (ages 2 and up) who are enrolled in the Lane County health plan.
