Department Statement
Accountabilities
Primarily accountable for a major function of the registrar's office. This role is accountable for the accurate analysis and application of data as related to the specific function. Provides advice, counsel and enforcement regarding most important areas of departmental policies, such as degree status and completion or course registration. This position requires: an in-depth knowledge of academic policies, procedures, and a strong understanding of transfer and articulation regulations; the ability to apply best practices to develop processes and procedures for evaluating and recording transfer credit from eligible domestic and international institutions; a desire to follow current AACRAO transfer credit best practices to provides expertise in the evaluation and implementation of new transfer policies and initiatives; the ability to assess and refine the academic evaluation processes for transfer students; the ability to perform general registrar related tasks and participate in the on-going registration functions of the registrar's office.
The position evaluates transfer credit applications for off-campus opportunities by researching and analyzing transfer credit materials, deciding on course acceptability and appropriate course equivalency according to institutional and departmental policies; interprets, clarifies, and applies policies and standards, as well as justifies decisions to students and academic departments; provides students with timely responses to transfer credit requests; advises students regarding transfer credit policies and procedures; answers students' questions regarding transfer credit and the applicability of transfer work to degree requirements; creates transfer credit evaluations for potential transfer students; works with incoming transfer students to register for their first semester; and provide clear communications regarding remaining degree requirements. Additionally, the person in this position will efficiently use various required software programs; navigate and manipulate Banner and transfer articulation software (e.g., TES).

Demonstrated ability to use and maintain enrollment technology tools (e.g., Banner, TES, Degree Works, Excel, OnBase, etc.) and understand the relationships between the various platforms. Ability to build ad hoc reports using available query and data visualization products, for use by internal and external constituencies.
Data Management and Reporting
Demonstrated ability to use processes to safeguard and manage use of data according to university requirements and FERPA. Ability to maintain function-relevant Banner tables, manipulate and analyze student and course data. Ability to evaluate data in both regularly scheduled queries and ad hoc reports to identify anomalies and patterns and to apply the information to university requirements, processes and policies.
Curriculum Analysis
Ability to understand the curriculum, apply policies and guidelines to the transfer articulation process, and to communicate effectively with faculty and administration to resolve issues.
Enrollment Management
Demonstrated ability to register students in classes complying with the university's academic policies and procedures, managing and applying exceptions where appropriate. Ability to track and report academic progress and degree fulfillment requirements for students during off-campus study opportunities.
Customer Service
Demonstrated ability to work with students and faculty to identify, avoid and solve issues related to policy and procedures. Ability to track and provide students and faculty with information regarding course selection, registration, curricular requirements and academic progress during off-campus study opportunities. Ability to provide training to others in the use of transfer articulation technologies. Will also establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships, interacting in a supportive manner with faculty, staff, students and visitors.

Requirements
Professional Experience/ Qualifications One (1) year of experience in higher education, preferably a registrar's office.Experience working with Banner or related Student Information System.Familiarity with policies, procedures, laws and regulations pertaining to institutions of higher education and experience in evaluating national and international college transcripts.
Preferred Qualifications
Education
A Bachelor's degree or comparable professional experience in a transfer credit focused role required; advanced degree preferred.
