  Description of Work Unit

  Medical Services

  The CSU Health Network Medical Services provide primary care and acute care to CSU students. Primary care physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners care for students, with emphasis on preventive care, education, and continuity. The medical staff are supported by an laboratory, pharmacy and behavioral health teams onsite, and practice integrated care with counseling, psychiatry, physical therapy, psychiatry, optometry, and nutrition services on site. Minor procedures are performed in the clinic. The Medical Clinic provides services between the hours of 8:00 am – 5:00 pm Monday-Friday with potential for one weekly evening clinic (up to 7pm) as determined by patient needs.

  Medical Services

  The Associate Medical Director at the CSU Health Network provides acute and chronic care to CSU students by appointments and on a walk-in basis for urgent concerns. Primary care physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners care for students, with emphasis on preventive care, education, and continuity. The medical staff are supported by a full range of laboratory, radiology, pharmacy, physical therapy, psychiatry, optometry, and nutrition services on site, behavioral health and integrated care with counseling staff enhances the treatment of students with behavioral health concerns. Minor procedures are performed in the clinic. The Medical Clinic provides services between the hours of 8:00 am – 5:00 pm Monday-Friday, providing attractive work schedules for staff.

  Position Summary

  As a member of the CSU Health Network, the Associate Medical Director is committed to providing leadership for equitable, integrative, innovative, and comprehensive care of the highest quality. This position participates in Medical Leadership Meetings, the Clinical Integration Committee, and Quality Improvement needs under the direction of the Director of Medical Services at the CSU Health Network.

  Required Job Qualifications

  Education/License/Certification

  Current Colorado licensure as MD or DO (or equivalent outside U.S.), or ability to obtain Colorado license within 30 days of hire

  Board certification in a primary care specialty

  Current controlled substance registration ( DEA certificate)

  Experience

  2-3 years of supervisory experience in a high-volume, multidisciplinary primary care clinic

  2-3 years of prior supervisory experience

  Demonstrated experience in delivering culturally appropriate care

  Demonstrated commitment to dismantling “race-based” medicine and other medical constructs that lack valid medical underpinning

  A personal commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through active planning and purposeful effort

  Demonstrated leadership in quality improvement and quality assurance systems

  Skills in bridging differences and conflict resolution

  Preferred Job Qualifications

  Experience

  Recent experience in youth/young adult outpatient clinics

  Experience in student health services

  Recent experience with integrated care leadership and management (e.g. Behavioral Health, Counseling, Health Education, Psychiatry)

  Experience implementing equitable health care approaches in a primary care setting

  Prior supervisory experience with a team

  Leadership in relevant professional association(s)

  Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics

  Experience with outpatient clinical administration

  Ability to analyze policies, programs, and initiatives to make recommendations for quality improvement

  A commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through anti-racist and LGBTQ+ affirming clinical practices

  Bilingual (medically bilingual) in English and Spanish
