Based at our Region's Corporate Service Center in Centennial, CO, the VP, Associate General Counsel will provide legal advice to CommonSpirit Mountain Region and its affiliates at an early stage in contemplated transactions, policy development and potential disputes in order to help structure legal, workable arrangements and policies, and to the extent possible, to avoid misunderstandings, disputes and litigation. Areas of specific focus may include the following:
Serve as liaison with outside attorneys; participate in the monitoring and evaluation of outside attorneys. Assist management and staff in communicating and providing responses to outside counsel.
Review and provide legal advice concerning the development of business ventures, such as general partnerships, limited partnerships, corporations, and limited liability companies.
Prepare and review agreements and contracts to ensure compliance with civil law, and the ethical and religious requirements.
Ensure that CommonSpirit Mountain Region conducts business activities in compliance with applicable federal and/or state statutes, rules and regulations, including Joint Commission Standards and HHS.
Provide educational services and promote awareness of legal concerns among management and employees to help avoid legal problems. Attend meetings and provide legal advice to committees and working groups within CommonSpirit Mountain Region.
Respond, and be available after hours to respond, to patient care questions from administrators, physicians, and employees in CommonSpirit Mountain Region facilities. Participates as requested as a team player in facility and system-wide quality initiatives and programs. Develops and maintains good working relationships with CommonSpirit Mountain Region management, employees, and other constituencies.
Keeps abreast on legal trends and issues in the health care industry. Ensures that matters worked on in the Office of General Counsel and all legal matters within CommonSpirit Mountain Region and its affiliates are handled and maintained with the necessary and appropriate level of confidentiality.

Qualifications:
In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:
Juris Doctor; admitted to practice law in Colorado
5-10 years relevant legal experience.
Demonstrated experience representing health care institutions or health care providers.

Pay Range:
$188,593 - $260,887 /annually
