Overall Purpose:
Responsible for coordinating and supervising the maintenance of the general ledger and for the production of various resultant financial statements.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Manages a group or section of general accountants. Leads complex general accounting projects.
Supervises the work of employees responsible for reviewing and preparing financial statements.
Makes decision related to product cost variance, comprehensive costing of changes to product or plant, development of parts and product costs for inventory evaluation programs and preparation for product cost targets.
Develops and creates analysis of specific assigned items for review by senior management.
Confer and consult management with identification and evaluation of operating issues or financial opportunities.
Job Contribution:
Exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criterion for obtaining results.
Work leadership provided by assigning work and resolving problems.
Supervises activities for subordinates including recruitment, training, performance evaluation and salary management; encourages professional development through job assignments and training.
Influences decisions regarding the hiring, firing, disciplinary action, promotional activity, and pay decisions for subordinates.
Education:
Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.Experience:
