Job Description Duties:
• Develop the contracting and pricing strategy and support US market access preparedness for Biogen’s pipeline products.
• Develop stakeholder contracting strategies, including but not limited to payers and providers, to facilitate patient access for Biogen’s SMA and MS products to support business objectives.
• Lead development of pricing and contracting strategy for these therapeutic areas across all payer channels (i.e., Medicare, Medicaid, and Commercial).
• Plan, direct, or coordinate marketing and/or pricing policies and programs, such as determining the demand for products and services offered by Biogen and its competitors, and identify potential customers; develop pricing strategies with the goal of maximizing the organization’s profits or share of the market while ensuring customers are satisfied.
• Develop innovative approaches, such as portfolio, risk-based, and value- & outcomes-based contracting, to achieve patient access.
• Support strategy development with models to evaluate the impact of potential pricing and contracting approaches on key stakeholders across all channels.
• Support development of pricing strategies for Biogen’s pipeline portfolio and communicate critical success factors to stakeholders.
• Represent US market access needs in pipeline development discussions with Global teams and support US payer pre-approval engagement and landscape preparations.
• Independently manage projects from start to finish.
• Work cross-functionally within the US Organization to align on US market access approach across products.
• Partner with Global Value & Access as well as Public Policy & Gov Affairs to align on assumptions and strategy development.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on contracting approaches across MS, SMA, and pipelines products.
• Present recommendations to senior leadership for approval.

Qualifications Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Biotechnology or a related field and 5 years of progressive experience in the job offered or a Strategic Pricing & Contracting- related occupation focused on contracting, pricing, or market access in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry or a consulting firm.
Experience must include demonstrable experience in each of the following:
• Developing and communicating brand-specific pricing and contracting strategy informed by primary and secondary research and aligned with overall business and organizational objectives.
• Working knowledge of buy-and-bill and discounting mechanics for Medicare Part B products as well as knowledge of US Government pricing dynamics (including Medicaid, 340B, and Medicare Part D).
• Developing forecasting models within market access and pricing role.
• Understanding of PBMs, GPOs, and discounting dynamics, including GTN considerations.
• Conducting primary payer and provider market research.
• Using online survey tools and syndicated data sources.
• Ability to effectively communicate pricing and contracting information orally and in writing, including explaining methodology and consequences of decisions in lay terms to internal and external stakeholders and senior management.
• Building effective cross-functional and cross-team relationships across and up and down a matrix organization, influencing without authority, and partnering with other functions as well as internal and external stakeholders.
• Developing and delivering clear, concise, and compelling presentations on complex pricing and contracting topics to senior leadership.
