The Position
As an Associate Director for preclinical PK/PD Modelling and Simulation - Cardiometabolic, you will be an integral part of our multidisciplinary teams and drive our ‘learn-and-confirm’ mentality. You will improve your leadership skills and expand your own skillset by guiding PK/PD modelling scientists and project team representatives for all drug metabolism and pharmacokinetic disciplines or by directly guiding Project Teams within Discovery Research.

This position is part time eligible with 70%.
Tasks & responsibilities
In your new role as an Associate Director in Preclinical PK/PD Modelling and Simulation, you will coordinate our preclinical NCE modelling and simulation resources in the field of cardiometabolic diseases, e.g., MASH and Obesity.
In addition, you will guide, shape, and implement PK/PD modelling strategies and overarching translational approaches for cardiometabolic indications, and contribute to the definition of modelling-related goals for Discovery Research.
By providing expertise and guidance with regards to pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics, you will ensure the timely delivery of state-of-the-art modelling and simulation deliverables throughout drug discovery as well as high-quality prediction of the human efficacious dose.
You will represent and coordinate Research DMPK disciplines in international Research Project Teams including the establishment and maintenance of external collaborations and the support of licensing activities.
Moreover, you will guide and support the development of three to five (junior and senior) research scientists.
Requirements
PhD with several years of experience in a field related to preclinical PK/PD modelling, pharmacometrics, applied mathematics, systems biology, bioinformatics or similar, or alternatively Master’s degree with extensive expertise, preferably in the pharmaceutical sector
Proven skills in PK, PK/PD, PBPK, and / or longitudinal disease modelling.
Proficiency in (statistical) programming languages and pharmacometric tools like R, MATLAB, Phoenix WinNonLin, NONMEM
In-depth understanding of PK/PD modelling and simulation, as well as pharmacology and DMPK-related topics. Experience in preclinical drug discovery and in cardiometabolic indications is beneficial
Successful track record of managing and developing direct reports is beneficial.
Enthusiastic personality, with a willingness to grow and succeed both individually and together with the team
Excellent communication skills in English with the ability to motivate a team
