Job Summary
The Associate Director should play a key leadership role in strengthening linkages between CAPS and other departments in Student Affairs and the larger campus community through the coordination of services and activities that promote wellness and the integration of campus services. This person will serve on the Division’s Wellbeing Committee and should serve as a co-chair of that committee in the determined rotation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for the development of comprehensive mental health services focused on prevention and education.
Plan, implement, coordinate service delivery and evaluate outcomes to the campus community.
Develop campus programs that align with national standards related to providing comprehensive mental health services.
Consult with national organizations including but not limited to IACS , CCMH and the JED foundation.
Ensure compliance with Health Services AAAHC accreditation requirements and assist the CAPS administrative team in updating protocols.
Promote and develop a broad range of wellness (suicide prevention) and outreach education services, including training, consultation, direct programming.
Provide supervision of a team of clinical care providers with direct reports of an Assistant Director of Outreach Services and Mental Health Promotion and a Clinical Supervisor-Social Worker.
Maintain a clinical case load including face to face and virtual appointments in a wide variety of mental health concerns. Includes individual, group counseling and therapy.
Coordinate care plans with the other CAPS leadership team including overseeing and participating in clinical case management team meetings.
Oversee the maintenance and completion of charts in a timely manner.
Provide consultation and supervision of case management services for patients requiring services not offered at UTA CAPS .
Participate in peer review activities and Health Services committees as assigned by the Director of CAPS .
Committee assignments may include quality improvement, risk management, provider and advisory committee.
Perform other duties assigned.
Required Qualifications
Master’s or Ph. D. in Counseling/Clinical Psychology, Counseling or Social Work with a minimum of six (6) years clinical experience and experience in program development and evaluation and/or equivalent relevant experience.
Current licensed Mental Health Provider.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in college mental health setting.
Experience working with a diverse college age population is desirable.
Experience supervising a clinical team.
