  A documented track record of successfully soliciting and managing current and prospective donors at the major gifts level OR experience generating substantial revenue in a goal-oriented for-profit environment.

  Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  Bachelor’s degree.

  Preferred Qualifications

  Master’s degree in higher education or related field.

  CFRE certification.

  Minimum 1-3 years demonstrated successful fundraising experience preferably in higher education (or a comparably complex organization)

  Prior experience in a research-rich environment.

  Experience cultivating and successfully closing gifts of $100,000 or more.

  Job Description

  Working with the entire campus, the Division of University Advancement, which encompasses Fundraising, Donor Engagement, Advancement Services, and Alumni Engagement is dedicated to expanding community and tradition by increasing awareness and philanthropic contributions to Texas State University. Within the Division, Associate Directors of Development have a significant effect on the university’s ability to engage current and future donors in a meaningful way and are responsible for enhancing the university’s ability to identify, establish, create, and maintain strong relationships with donors.

  Job Duties

  Managing a prospect portfolio between 85 to 150 prospects and identifying and qualifying new prospects to be added to the portfolio as needed.

  Moving prospects through the stages of identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.

  Conducting face-to-face visits with prospects/donors.

  Establishing new endowments and/or producing major gifts.

  Initiating opportunities for faculty, administrators, and deans to interact with prospects/donors and interpret interests to university constituencies.

  Developing and presenting proposals to prospects/donors for funding.

  Maintaining high quality stewardship processes for active prospects and donors. Ensuring that stewardship and reporting requirements are met to sustain successful partnerships by maintaining detailed records of solicitation activities.

  Collaborating with faculty, deans, and prospective donors in research-rich environments to help raise funds to support research activities.

  Working evenings and weekends as needed.
