Salary:
$6,251.00 - $8,333.33 per month commensurate with experience.
Job Description Summary:
This position is eligible for flexible work arrangement. The Associate Director, Communications/Marketing oversees Office of Information Technology external communications across a variety of media channels, coordinates development of effective marketing / communications materials and creates and implements a strategic marketing / communications plan. Consults with project teams on internal communication needs. Able to craft communications for the reader's perspective using what the content owner has written.
Responsibilities:
Manage, develop and deliver Office of Information Technology (OIT) external communications.
Write, review and edit materials across a variety of media, prepare presentations and communicate with appropriate parties to announce new initiatives and discuss service offering changes.- Develop a brand and social media strategy for the OIT.
Create, develop and implement a strategic marketing and communications plan based on the strategy.- Work with creative and technical members of the OIT to develop effective marketing and communication materials; these may include production and design documents, quality control processes, brand and style guides, etc.- Oversee website content and maintenance. Lead monthly meetings of the OIT's collaborative web management team.- May supervise support staff.- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:- Bachelor’s degree in communications or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.- Eight years of progressive responsibility and experience in customer relations, web communication, public relations and/or publications production.
Experience with word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, editing and presentation skills.- Excellent knowledge of formatting, grammar and punctuation.- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under minimum supervision.- Able to work with executives, managers and staff in a technical environment across a matrixed organization.- Able to work with vendors and other outside organizations.- Able to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with organizational change management approaches, especially Prosci.- Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud products.- Experience with WordPress.- Experience writing under Plain Language guidelines.
