The Associate Director, Commercial Insights & Strategy – Precision Medicine is responsible for generating, integrating and translating insights and analytics into growth opportunities that shape decisions and drive organizational action in support of the Oncology Precision Medicine strategy. This position will serve as an internal consultant to marketing and sales, cross functional partners and senior leadership: delivering actionable recommendations, shaping decision-making, and driving organizational action. The position plays a leading role in advising the commercial team and management in the development and evaluation of new and existing business strategies and tactics and as a result, shares accountability for business results.
Responsibilities include:
Serve as focal point integrating insights and analytics (marketing research and integrated analytics) for Precision Medicine and translating into business impact.
Leads design of an overall market research plan to address strategic imperatives, identify appropriate supplier partners, foster strong partnerships in the context of resources, timing and overall project goals.
Integrate primary research insights with analytical insights to build a comprehensive and holistic understanding of the market place and key business issues within the Precision Medicine area, and translate these into business impact.
Champion the development and implementation of analytics approaches and methods that are innovative, drive efficiencies, and contribute to broader sharing of best practices aligned to Precision Medicine Strategic Initiatives across the portfolio.
Identify, design and execute integrated analytics which inform marketing and sales strategy and tactics:
Leverage disparate data sources to address key business questions and uncover business opportunities across Prostate, Lung and Bladder Cancer
Determine optimal analytic approaches , identify appropriate supplier/data partners, foster strong partnerships in the context of resources, timing and overall project goals for Lab partnerships. Partner with GCSO Data Science and Precision Medicine Commercial team.
Develop new insights and actionable recommendations and influence business partners at all levels to incorporate in decision making.
Ensure seamless integration of analytics from national and subnational levels across key data sources to evaluate business performance and impact of marketing and sales tactics.
Identify and develop key Precision medicine metrics to measure and monitor performance through automated dashboards for portfolio
Ensure timely tracking across key data sources – prescription/sales, patient, call activity and competitive landscape to evaluate risk & opportunities.
Serve as a champion for the implementation of Commercial Innovation capabilities to drive impact for brand or franchise and drive organizational efficiencies.
Serve as a leader in integrating data and analytics (national, subnational, payer) with cross functional findings and insights developed by peers across the Commercial Strategy & Operations team.
Leverage and manage external partners to support internal efforts, where appropriate
Drive focus and innovation through objective research and analyses and the integration of insights enabling organizational decision making and action.
Demonstrate leadership courage in order to set boundaries and ensure time is spent on the most critical/ high value projects
Drive a culture of simplicity within the analytics function to ensure business processes are streamlined and partners are provided on-demand insights that translate to action.
Lead talent strategy which includes acquisition, development and overall employee performance management and talent management activities.
Apply basic consulting skills, including consultative listening, problem definition, hypothesis generation, data analysis, translation to value, and oral and written presentation for impact.
Inspire and support peers to act with speed, agility and accountability enabling them to achieve excellence
Qualifications
Education:
A minimum of a BA/BS is required.
Required:
A minimum of 7 years of relevant business experience in market research, business intelligence, marketing, sales, or business analytics, strategic planning, management consulting. Healthcare industry experience.
Demonstrated success solving business problems and generating actionable insights and recommendations.
Experience shaping and influencing organizational decision-making.
Strength in storytelling, data visualization and developing effective presentations.
Knowledge across a broad spectrum of analytic approaches and ability to identify appropriate approach to address key business questions.
High degree of intellectual curiosity.
Strong leadership agility and demonstrated success solving ambiguous business issues.
Ability to execute basic statistical methods such as Test and Control, Regression, etc.
Proficiency with all Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) and Tableau.
Proven success in coaching and developing others.
Preferred:
Oncology experience and/or companion diagnostic / lab data experience
Expertise in domain specific data sets of pharma and specialty pharmacy data sources (including RWE, Patient level data, & sales data sources).
