Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (APRN) Role Scope * Hartford HealthCare's Midstate Medical Center is seeking a per diem Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (APRN) to join a very enthusiastic team in the Surgical Services unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for various functions including first assisting in the operating room, rounding, bedside procedures and consults. APPs will work in collaboration with a number of surgeons. The service currently covers General, Robotic, Bariatric, Thoracic, Vascular, ENT with some coverage of Orthopedics and Urology. · Perform Daily patient rounds and Implement therapeutic intervention · Exercise judgment on problems requiring consultation, referral or evaluation · Perform H&P and discharge summary for patients · Ordering diagnostic studies as part of clinical treatment plan · First assist surgeon in the OR · Perform and assist with bedside procedures · Display professional competency in the OR · Identify and provide teaching for patients, families, and other health care providers Shift: Per Diem Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners (APRN) Enjoy At Hartford HealthCare newly graduated and experienced providers are provided with the support and mentorship they need to succeed through on the job, classroom, and procedural training. Robotic training is a plus.
