The School of Education at Metropolitan State University of Denver invitesapplications for an Associate Dean. The Associate Dean works closely with theDean, Chairs, professional advisors, faculty and staff to help realizethe vision, mission, and goals of the school. This involves consultingabout daily management of three academic departments in which 31 programs arehoused. The Associate Dean helps shape the direction of the School ofEducation by collaborating with the Dean in all phases of personnel andresource planning. This includes assuming the role of acting Dean in theabsence or in the event the Dean cannot perform the Dean's duties.

Responsibilities
Administration - 50%Assists with management of personnel matters in the School of Education with afocus on inclusivity and equity (ADA issues, staffing, and scheduling,).Conducts supervision and evaluation of staff and Lecturers (Lecturerpersonnel).Oversees and supervises the Director of Graduate Programs for the School ofEducation.Oversees the School of Education Student Services Office to ensure accurateand accessible assistance is provided to a diverse student population.Represents the Dean and SOE overall on various university committees.Assists the Dean in recruiting and retaining diverse students, staff, andfaculty.Collaborates with the designated Associate Deans in other colleges and schoolson campus in the administration of shared programs at the undergraduate andgraduate level.Oversees student issues and complaints.Collaborates with School of Education Directors to ensure cohesive andefficient programming.
Assessment/Accreditation Activities - 25%Collaborates with staff, department chairs, and directors to oversee anddirect all School of Education assessment efforts.Oversees and directs all Teacher Education state and national accreditationefforts.Oversees the University program review process.Remains current in knowledge of state requirements and proposed changes tostate requirements.
Curriculum - 20%Works closely with department chairs and faculty in the supe vision ofcurriculum development, review, and implementation and develop newgraduate and undergraduate programs that will align with state and nationaltrends to enact the SOE vision and mission.Ensures compliance with state authorization requirements and Universityrequirements.Works with the designated Associate Deans in other colleges and schools oncampus to mediate conflicts related to curriculum and course offerings.Works with the Office Graduate Studies to assist with graduate programleadership.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned - 5%I.e., teach one class per year if needed.
