This will focus on our Scratch Cooking – Bouillon, Soups & Sauces portfolio across the Knorr & Lipton portfolio.
Category Strategy & Planning function works closely with Field Sales, Marketing (local and global), Shopper Marketing, Finance, Net Revenue Management, Supply Chain, and internal Trade Marketing functions bringing commercial strategies to the retail (including eComm) with flawless execution achieving US Scratch Cooking top and bottom-line growth plans.
Associate Category Planning Manager, US Scratch Cooking , will be the voice of the customer and the shopper within the US Scratch Cooking – Bouillon, Soups & Sauces cross-functional business team ensuring channel and customer insights are incorporated in developing short and long term brand and customer commercial plans that coincides with retailers’ strategies.
The role reports into the Associate Director of Category Strategy & Planning, US Scratch Cooking.

Who You Are & What You’ll Do
The Associate Category Planning Manager role will need to bring dynamic attitude and passion to:
Strong background in data and analytics and enjoys diving deep into big data sets
Translating data into insights and insights into action by crafting commercial plans that executes against Category Growth Strategy across Category Value Drivers
Partnering in S&OP and Demand Review gathering key demand driving inputs from customer and brand teams to ensure US Scratch Cooking has the appropriate demand forecast to support in-market activity.
Crafting channel and customer trade budgets and annual growth targets that ladder up to US Scratch Cooking P&L business delivery meeting Top & Bottomline financial KPIs
Diving deep into Channel pricing, distribution gaps, competitive analysis, trade optimizations, promotional analysis, and shopper insights to build Commercial Plans
Building out key Category and Brand Commercial (including digital/Omni) planning inputs across Integrated Business Planning and Joint Business Planning with key customers spanning across all sectors with direct focus on the Grocery Channel
Develop Customer Facing Category Strategy with key business partners to translate and localize category strategy into Channel and Category marketing plans the retail landscape across multiple channels and customers.
Setting and deploying channel strategy for their category and deploying holistic customer investment across customers to deliver profitable growth
What You’ll Need To Succeed
Bachelor’s degree required, MBA preferred
Preferred experience and familiarity with P&Ls
3+ years’ experience in Customer Development, Account Management, Trade Marketing, Category Strategy, and/or Brand Marketing Operations within Consumer Goods industry
Results driven and ownership mindset to achieve set goals and KPIs
Proven ability to demonstrate analytical thinking, data-driven decision making, and ability to influence through strategy story-telling through data and insights
Retail, eCommerce, and Omnichannel experience preferred
Ability to think strategically, and produce results in a highly entrepreneurial environment
Excellent oral/written and presentation skills; ability to tailor your communication style across a multitude of disciplines leadership levels
Energized by collaborating with cross-functional partners on new and creative ways to solve business problems
Encourages ownership to resolve issues where they are happening. Holds others and organization accountable for delivery.
High comfort level using Circana (POS data), Numerator (Panel Data), Shipment Data Platform
Pay: The pay range for this position is $83,200 to $124,700. Unilever takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.
Bonus: This position is bonus eligible.
Long-Term Incentive (LTI): This position is LTI eligible.
