The Department of Statistics at the University of IllinoisUrbana-Champaign invites applications for an open rank tenure-systemfaculty (Assistant/Associate/Full Professor) position in the area ofNeuroinformatics (100% for 9 months). Specific areas of interest include(but are not limited to) high-dimensional statistics for neurobiologyand behavioral data, multi-scale neural network inference, inference ofdynamic networks and statistical approaches for processing and analyzinglarge neuroscience datasets. Successful candidates are expected to teach effectively at both theundergraduate and graduate levels, establish and maintain an active andindependent research program, and provide service to the department, theuniversity and the profession. Candidates are required to have a PhD inStatistics, Biostatistics, Data Science or a related field at time ofappointment. Candidates who will complete all the Ph.D. requirementswithin the first appointment year may be appointed at the rank ofInstructor. After the Ph.D. requirement is met, the appointment will bechanged to Assistant Professor. Applicants at the assistant professorlevel should provide evidence of potential for research and high-qualityteaching excellence. Applicants at the associate/full professor levelshould provide evidence of established research and teaching excellenceappropriate for appointment with tenure.
