  Job ID358040 LocationTwin Cities Job FamilyAcademic Full/Part TimeFull-Time Regular/TemporaryRegular Job Code9323 Employee ClassAcad Prof and Admin About the Job Working Title: Assistant Vice Provost for Internationalizing the Curriculum and Campus Full-time; 40 hours per week M-F (occasional evenings and weekends) Job Description: The Assistant Vice Provost for Internationalizing the Curriculum and Campus will provide University systemwide strategic leadership to internationalize the curriculum and experiences of all University of Minnesota students.This position is responsible for developing and overseeing nationally recognized and sought-after educational programs for faculty and staff at the University of Minnesota and institutions across the United States. The Assistant Vice Provost for Internationalizing the Curriculum and Campus actively seeks partnerships and resources, both within the University system and externally, to promote comprehensive internationalization. The Assistant Vice Provost will also create, implement, and oversee the assessment and evaluation of curriculum and campus internationalization strategies and initiatives. Responsibilities: Internationalization Leadership and Strategy -Advance quality educational programming for faculty and staff professional development by providing strategic oversight for program development, direction, and delivery, including raising visibility of Internationalizing the Curriculum and Campus educational programs internally within the University of Minnesota system as well as external through revenue-generating programs -Create a progressive equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) strategy, in collaboration with other University equity and diversity resources, that weaves the EDI lens into all aspects of created curriculum and programming -Lead and provide oversight of development and implementation of a broad range of educational programs, events, and workshops for both a University of Minnesota and a national audience -Develop and maintain partnerships internally with academic units and externally with institutions across the U.S. to further the strategic internationalization goals of developing student's global competencies; provide leadership and expert consultation on initiatives resulting from partnerships -Create learning benchmarks and assessment tools to ensure current programs meet the changing needs and direction of campus internationalization -Use expertise and knowledge of current practices in international education and pedagogy to advise faculty on course development and delivery -Stay current on trends in the field of international education and use knowledge of current effective practices to advise on the direction of the initiatives and the content and delivery of internationalization programming -Present at national and international conferences Talent, Fiscal, and Operational Leadership -Provide oversight of Internationalizing the Curriculum and Campus unit operations -Supervise and guide professional staff team that contributes to planning, development, and implementation of educational activities -Establish an inclusive and supportive work culture, setting clear expectations -Manage fiscal and people resources to establish clear performance standards -Identify and implement revenue-generating strategies -Manage financial resources and provide budget forecasting and oversight for Internationalizing the Curriculum and Campus initiatives -Create and provide oversight of programs that contribute to donor relationships and unit donor management goals -Oversee the International Travel Grant Program, which supports internationalization efforts through research, teaching, and outreach Qualifications Required Qualifications: -PhD in International Education, Intercultural Communication, or other related degree -At least 5 years of leadership experience in international education or related field -Extensive experience creating and implementing strategies for Int rnationalizing the Curriculum within higher education -Experience with higher education curriculum design and/or teaching -Experience collaborating with leadership and/or faculty to advance the mission of Internationalizing the Curriculum -Experience creating and implementing strategic methods of assessment and evaluation -Ability to clearly communicate with a variety of cultures -Ability to factor a lens of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion into all aspects of the work -Proven ability to foster positive, collaborative working relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization Preferred Qualifications: -Experience working within a large, decentralized university -Recognized contributor to the field of Internationalizing the Curriculum and Campus, such as through conference presentations, and published books and articles -Management experience, including strategic, fiscal, and people management About the Department Internationalizing the Curriculum and Campus (ICC) serves as a hub for the rich internationalization efforts across the University of Minnesota system.
