Performs professional, technical, and administrative work assisting the Town Manager towards the operations and programs of the Town. Assists the Town Manager on a variety of Town functions, including activities with the Town Council, projects related to municipal services, and day to day oversight of the following Town departments: Finance, Human Resources, and Information Technology with active engagement in the day to day operations of the Finance Department.This position is a key member of the Town Managers financial management and budget team. Regularly attends Town Council meetings and prepares respective legislation for approval by Town Council. Minimum requirements: BA/BS Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or related field and 8-10 years of experience in finance or an equivalent combination of education and experience; at least eight years of increasingly responsible experience in managing a financial operation; strong oral and written presentation skills with significant experience making budget and/or financial presentations to governing bodies
Preferred qualifications:Masters Degree in Public or Business Administration and a minimum of ten (10) years of progressively responsible administrative experience in local government.; CPA or Certified Government Finance Officer certification nationally or in Virginia; Virginia municipal government experience; financial management and budget experience; familiarity with Americans with Disability Act; bilingual in English/Spanish.
