About Assistant to the Director of Athletics

  Position Purpose

  Supports the office of the Director of Athletics and general business operations of the Athletics Department. Specific areas include but are not limited to Finance, Oracle Finance Applications training and troubleshooting, team travel, and game officials.

  This is a full time, benefits eligible, hourly role with a hiring range of $22.89-$28.61 per hour.

  Core Responsibilities

  Manage the office of the Director of Athletics. Triage staff issues to present to AD.

  Work with sports assignors to secure officials for each home contest and pay officials.

  Coordinate team transportation.

  Generate team travel advances.

  Train and troubleshoot staff of 50 on Oracle Finance system.

  Advises staff on policies and procedures related to athletic business, including tax form requirements, Independent Contractors, camps, AP/AR, One-time payments.

  Work with departments such as HR, Accounting, Public Safety and the Green Mountain Consortium and NESCAC offices on Athletics business matters.

  Requirements

  Position Prerequisites:

  Bachelor's Degree or equivalent required, degree focus in Business preferred.

  Experience with Accounting, Business Analytics, Finance and General Business practices.

  Must have excellent communications skills in working with diverse clientele.

  Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and handle confidential material with complete discretion.

  Ability to plan, prioritize and implement work; apply logic and creativity to solve problems with business and financial aspects.

  Familiarity with Oracle Finance Software, Excel and Microsoft Word.

  Strong organizational skills, managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced and fluid environment.

  Interest or experience in athletics is helpful. Ability to relate to students is essential.
