Kelly Science and Clinical FSP is currently seeking a Assistant Scientist - Bacterial Vaccines for a long-term engagement with one of our Global Pharmaceutical clients in Raritan, NJ. This person will join our Kelly FSP (Functional Service Provider) division, a managed solution provider and business unit of Kelly Services, Inc. 　　We are looking for a highly motivated Assistant or Associate Scientist who will be part of an established team working to evaluate clinical trial samples for immunological responses to vaccination by an internal vaccine candidate.

　　The candidate will be responsible for performing laboratory experiments and activities supporting clinical programs within the Bacterial Vaccines department. Primary role will be as member of the cell culture team responsible for propagating, differentiating, and preparing HL60 cell line for use in Opsonophagocytic Killing (OPK) assay. Duties will also include the preparation of bacterial and tissue culture growth media, the preparation of bacterial isolates and tissue culture cell lines for cryogenic storage, the propagation of tissue cultures from cryogenic storage, and monitoring HL60 cells by FACS. Assistance with other assays such as ELISA / MSD and serological assays for the characterization of bacteria is possible. The candidate will perform laboratory work under Good Clinical Laboratory Practice (GCLP) conditions and will maintain laboratory records according to GCLP requirements, including the use of a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).

　　A four year degree in Biological Sciences, Biochemistry, Immunology, or a related field is required

　　Experience working with Biosafety Level (BSL) II bacterial pathogens is required.

　　Proficient with general safe laboratory practices, sterile technique and working with cell cultures is required.

　　Familiarity with GCLP or GLP principles is beneficial.

　　Experience with opsonophagocytic killing assays is beneficial.

　　At least one of the following laboratory skills is beneficial:

　　Familiarity with flow cytometry.

　　Familiarity with ELISA procedures.

　　Laboratory experience in the performance of in vitro assays with clinical materials and the use of LIMS.
