Description
Residence is located in Westchester County. It is a nonprofit agency whose members are dedicated to improving the care, education and treatment of children and adults who have intellectual/developmental disabilities. The residential program is based on the Supportive Families model. Each residence has a support family who lives at the residence and functions as an extended family for the individuals in our care.
Qualifications
· Two years’ experience working with the MR/DD population
· Complete and maintain AMAP, SCIP, Adult CPR and IGHL Driver Authorization certifications, as per IGHL policy and OPWDD
· Valid NYS driver’s license
· Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. at least five times per hour
· Enthusiastic team player who can handle stressful situations professionally, with ease
Between $21 - $30 hourly

Requirements
· The Assistant Residence Manager is responsible for assisting the Residential Manager with the day-to-day operations of the residence and to act as manager in his/her absence
· This includes interviewing staff, adjusting schedules, approving time off, etc. with manager or when manager is off
· Provides and fulfills 24 hour on-call responsibility when the manager is not available
· Administratively responsible for the residence in the absence of the manager
· Responding to emergencies relating to the care of consumers (medical, behavioral, etc.)
· Utilizing appropriate on-call nursing procedures
· Making appropriate administrative notifications when necessary
· Completing incident reports and investigations relating to issues pertaining to the residents such as injury, mistreatment, illness, etc.
· Ensures that adequate staffing is maintained according to critical limits identified for each program
· Assists the manager in the orientation of new employees including: house routing, rules and policies, the supervision of the consumers, programming, emergency procedures, administrative procedures, etc
· Participates with and oversees staff in the training and supervision of consumers in the acquisition of appropriate daily living skills and independent living skills by maintaining and posting scheduled work responsibilities for the consumers and the staff and ensures that all staff are trained in specific programmatic components
· Ensures that meaningful activities are provided throughout their shift and approves group activities such as picnics, outings, socials, etc.
· Supervises staff and provides constructive criticism and assists the manager in the counseling and disciplining of direct care staff
· Completes and updates programmatic component plans semi-annually or as necessary
· Conducts as assigned, fire drills as outlined according to regulatory guidelines
· Works with case management and clinical support staff to access and provide needed services to the consumers
· provides direct supervision for all Direct Support Professionals (DSP)
· Ensure appropriate coverage for shifts
· Ensure DSP staff are leaving the facility clean and orderly manner each evening
· Oversee routines of daily life (meals, bedtime, wake-up, laundry, etc.). Coordinate DSP Staff to ensure that the practices are smoothly integrated into the residential environment
· Prepare weekly staff schedules and ensure facility is adequately staffed on overnight shift
· Track Staff Attendance and uphold agency policy and procedures regarding time and attendance
· Report and/or assure incidents and write reports are being completed as needed
· Attend Administrative Meetings and Program Improvement Council Meetings
· Facilitate staff or clinical meetings as requested
· Reviewing the in/out sheets for the resident and making sure every resident is accounted for in the building during evening shift
· Assist and review in counting the medications and completing the medication count
· Making sure the Self-medication step sheets is updated and pill checks are being conducted
· Verifying that there are no missing signatures on the MAR’S
· Verifying that the control count is correct and that the staff is signing on every shift
· Enforces and adheres to all safety policies
· All other duties as assigned
